Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country, which may be up to 16 in some EU member states) and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Account Registration

• •You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• •You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• •You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• •You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• •We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Description of Service

PREPEUR is a test-taking environment in which the exam you sit is built from your own material. The Service allows you to:

• •Upload your own materials (PDF, DOCX, PPTX)
• •Declare what you are preparing for, with a date, and confirm the scope it is drawn from
• •Prepare mock exams
• •Sit full-length mock exams under exam conditions
• •Receive AI-graded feedback on your answers, with explanations

3.1 Document Processing

Files uploaded in DOCX or PPTX format are automatically converted to PDF for processing. Downloading is not available, so keep your own copies.

3.2 Service Availability and Changes

We are continually improving the Service. Features may change over time, and we may add, remove, or modify functionality. We may also suspend or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part), including specific features, with reasonable notice when practicable.

4. Subscription and Billing

4.1 Plans and Pricing

We offer a free plan and paid plans. Plans differ by how much of the Service you may use, not by which capabilities you may use. Prices are displayed in EUR and are subject to change with reasonable notice.

4.2 Billing

• •Paid subscriptions are billed in advance for the period you selected.
• •Payment is processed securely through Stripe.
• •Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• •You can manage your subscription and view billing history in your account settings.

4.3 Refunds

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you may withdraw from a subscription purchase within 14 days by emailing team@prepeur.com. For anything else, contact us and we will find a fair resolution.

4.4 Plan Changes

• •Upgrades: When you upgrade, the new plan starts immediately and is charged in full. The time left on your previous plan is not refunded or credited.
• •Downgrades: When you downgrade, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No data is deleted, and no capability is removed: your allowance adjusts to the new plan.

5. User Content and Ownership

5.1 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the documents you upload to the Service ("User Content"). You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to upload and process any content.

5.2 Generated Content

Material generated by PREPEUR through your use of the Service ("Generated Content") includes mock examination papers, questions, answers, assessment results, grading feedback and related information. You retain any intellectual property rights you may hold in Generated Content, to the extent such rights exist under applicable law. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your uploaded documents to PREPEUR or grants you ownership of intellectual property belonging to third parties. Your rights in Generated Content are subject to the licences granted under these Terms, including those governing Shared Papers.

5.3 License to PREPEUR

By using the Service, you grant PREPEUR a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to:

• •Process your User Content to provide the Service (preparing mock exams, grading answers, and providing feedback)
• •Store your content on our servers and third-party infrastructure
• •Use anonymized and aggregated usage data to improve the Service

We do not use your documents or generated content to train AI models. We do not sell your content to third parties.

5.4 Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please contact us at team@prepeur.com with enough information for us to investigate (for example, a description of the work, the location on the Service, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized). We may remove or disable access to the reported content and, where appropriate, take action against repeat infringers.

5.5 Shared Papers

5.5.1 Sharing and licences

The Service may allow you to share a mock examination paper you have completed ("Shared Paper") so that other candidates can sit it. Sharing is voluntary and requires your affirmative action. PREPEUR assigns each Shared Paper's category and may change it.

By sharing a paper, you grant:

• •PREPEUR a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and make its questions and associated information available to other users of the Service, for the purpose of providing Shared Papers; and
• •other candidates a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to access and sit it within the Service. This licence does not allow them to reproduce, redistribute, publish or commercially exploit a Shared Paper outside the Service.

5.5.2 Withdrawal and existing records

You may withdraw a Shared Paper at any time. Withdrawal stops new candidates from accessing or sitting it. Candidates who completed it before withdrawal keep their examination records, including the questions presented to them, their answers, grades and feedback, and PREPEUR may keep storing and displaying those records to them, but not to anyone new. PREPEUR may remove or restrict content where required by law, to protect third-party rights or to enforce these Terms.

5.5.3 Source documents and provenance

Shared Papers do not include your uploaded documents or excerpts from them. They may include bibliographic references to the sources the questions were generated from (author, title, edition, ISBN, chapter, section and page). Sharing a paper gives no one access to your documents.

5.5.4 Your responsibility

By sharing a paper, you confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, you have the rights needed to share its content and that doing so does not infringe the law or third-party rights. You must not knowingly share questions that reproduce copyrighted material without authorisation, contain confidential examination content, or were obtained in violation of examination rules. PREPEUR may restrict, suspend or remove Shared Papers that violate these Terms, the law or third-party rights.

5.6 Reviews and public aliases

5.6.1 Reviews

Candidates who complete a Shared Paper may review it. A review must reflect your own experience. By submitting a review for publication, you grant PREPEUR a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce and display it publicly with the Shared Paper, while it is published and afterwards only as the law requires or permits.

5.6.2 Public aliases

Your reviews and Shared Papers are shown under a public alias, not your name. You choose it the first time you publish, and you may change it until something is published under it. From then on it is permanent: you cannot change it, and it is never given to anyone else, even if you withdraw everything you published. An alias must be unique and must not impersonate anyone, use a reserved name, or contain offensive language, contact details or links. PREPEUR may refuse or change an alias that breaks these rules, infringes someone's rights or discloses personal information.

5.6.3 Review guidelines and reporting

Reviews must not contain offensive language, hate speech or harassment; spam or self-promotion; fake or incentivised reviews; personal information; content unrelated to the Shared Paper; or anything unlawful, defamatory or infringing.

Anyone may report a review to team@prepeur.com or with the Report action in the Service. PREPEUR assesses reports and may withhold the text of a review that breaks these Terms or the law; its ratings remain. Where the law requires, the author is told the decision, its reasons and how to contest it.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

• •Upload content you do not have the right to use or share
• •Upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• •Share your account credentials with others
• •Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures
• •Use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download content
• •Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
• •Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• •Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• •Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, code, documentation, and PREPEUR branding, is owned by PREPEUR OÜ and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or brand elements.

8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• •The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
• •We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• •We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• •Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PREPEUR, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• •Your use of the Service
• •Your violation of these Terms
• •Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• •Content you upload to the Service

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through the account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed. Deleting your account also cancels any subscription.

11.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to the Service, other users, or PREPEUR. We will attempt to notify you before termination when reasonably possible.

11.3 Inactive Accounts

We may close accounts that have been inactive for an extended period (for example, no login activity for approximately two years). Where reasonably possible, we will attempt to notify you using the email address associated with your account before closing it.

11.4 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (such as Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law) will continue to apply.

If your account is deleted or terminated, your Shared Papers and reviews remain available to other candidates under the name "[deleted profile]" in place of your alias, and your alias is retired permanently. Your personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Candidates who completed your Shared Papers keep their examination records.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

13. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• •Posting the updated Terms on this page
• •Updating the "Last updated" date
• •Sending you an email notification for significant changes

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you should stop using the Service.

Changes to the licences governing Shared Papers apply only going forward. PREPEUR will not widen the rights granted over content already shared by changing these Terms without any additional consent the law requires. Examination records and licences validly granted before a change remain subject to the terms that applied when they were granted, unless otherwise agreed or required by law.

14. Miscellaneous

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PREPEUR regarding the Service.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

14.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
